i have a mid 2009 mac book pro which i usually connect to my lcd tv through hdmi. it has worked perfect until two days ago when for some reason it just disconnected from the tv and i cant get it to reconnect. i have tried other hdmi cable and also plugged other hdmi devices into the tv and they work without a hitch.. when unplug my cord from the mac the screen goes back to normal which makes me think the port is still good. any help would be appreciated..

I don't know exactly what is wrong but have you tried going into your system preferences->display->detect display when you are connected to the TV?
