I have a Macbook 13" Aluminum, and I'm looking to play Starcraft 2 on it. I know Macbook's generally aren't great for gaming, but I don't really want to invest in a new computer just to play one game.

Can anyone suggest a good cooling pad to use with my Macbook so that it doesn't burn out while playing this game? Also, would my MB stay cooler if I connected a monitor to it and used it instead of the built-in screen?

Thanks for your help.

I can't recommend a cooling pag with fans in it, but I can suggest the mStand from Rain Design. It improves the airflow of the fans in the computer by lifting it off the table. I have it for my MBP, and it works like a charm. No, the computer would still be the same heat, because it still has to work to all you to play the game, so no matter what screen it's on, it won't change the heat produced.

And it shouldn't overheat unless you have installed software that allows you to mess with the fan speeds.

that stand won't help because the fans on the 13" MBP aren't on the bottom of the unit....they blow out the back through the hinges

Anyone by chance have any input on playing the game while my MBP (2010 15" i5) is hooked up to a big (32", maybe greater) external monitor in HD? Will the unit overheat because of what it's outputting?

This is my first MBP - have used a desktop all my life otherwise, and didn't really consider these things much. Any input would be appreciated.
