• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi all New to the Mac world. Just moved over for the scary world of crashing PC. I have lots of dvd backup on an external drive. I am trying to convert them to Mpeg4 so I can play them in Itunes and thinking of investing in a apple TV. Hear is my problem they are all VTS files some dvd folders are 4 to 5 VTS files. Such as

VTS-01-0-vob
VTS-01-1-vob
VTS-01-2-vob

My question is can any one recommend a good program that will join and convert these to MPEG4 with out taking a PHd in computers

Thanks

If they are in their native VIDEO_TS folder with all of their appropriate files, you should be able to just point Handbrake at the video_ts folder and it should list out the videos with the lengths and just choose the longest one which is usually your main video.
