Hi All,

I would like to play a wmv file on my MacBook Pro with Snow Leo. I have used following applications such as VLC, QuickTime Player X, WMV Player to play the file. I am still unable to play the wmv file. Please refer the error messages

QT Player - The movie “ccent24.wmv” can’t be opened. The movie is not in a format that QuickTime Player understands. You may need to install additional software to open this type of file.

VLC - No suitable decorder module. VLC does not support the audio or video format "MSS2". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.

PS: I have installed MPEG2 playback and Perian 1.2.1

Is there any way or application available to play wmv files on OS X 10.5 or 10.6?

Please, help me.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Shreya

If Flip4Mac WMV Player can't fix it, there's no fixing it.

You will need to take the video to a Widows machine and re-encode it in something less obscure in terms of codecs.
