Hey everyone! This is my first post here and I was looking for some info. I know that I will have to take the macbook pro somewhere for a full diagnosis, but I was hoping I could get some ideas.

I recently spilled water in my girlfriend's macbook pro. It cause it to turn off instantly. I took the bottom of the case off and let it sit for about a week to air out. I turned it on and it started up fine. As soon as it boots up, it turns off. It also isn't registering that it is plugged into a power source. I assume it is the logic board and I will thoroughly screwed by whoever fixes it.
Any ideas?

Most likely a damaged logic board (essentially the guts of the machine). There's really nothing you can do but replace it. And of course there may be damage to ancillary parts, so it's kind of a crap shoot.

Quotes for this kind of damage typically run around $700+. I would recommend shopping around a bit because there are several different Apple Authorized Service Providers who may do the job less expensively.

Given your thread title..."Spilled water inside, surprisingly having issues"...I'm really not surprised.

Water + computer = problems :(

You did you a good thing by letting the laptop dry out for a week (giving you a possible shot at everything being fine)...but the problem is the real damage probably occurred within a "millisecond" of the water contacting the electronics.

Sorry to hear about this...but...

Thanks for the help guys. I am not sure if you were joking about my expectations of damage done by the water, but I was attempting to be sarcastic when I said I was surprised.
Thanks again.
