BBC iplayer script issue

Hi

when I run BBC iplayer the movie stops (sound continues) and I get the following message:

A script running in this movie is causing flash player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script.

If I say no then the movie does not start and the message reappears.
If I say yes then the movie continues but not at full screen and I cannot put it to full screen.

BBC iplayer did run ok in the past but I don't know when it stopped. Any ideas about what is happenning.

As far as I know all software is up to date (I am on a imac with Mac os x 10.6.4)

Interesting. iPlayer do have some issues with playback sometimes, especially if you try it using a Wii, but I haven't had any issues via computer in the past.
I would suggest do a permissions check, just in case it's a flashplayer issue, and then give it another go.

flash player 10.1 is out, give that a try

I am having no problems full screen (Mock the Week) on an Intel Macbook in full screen

I have downloaded flash player 10.1 but no change.
I have looked at the permissions in preferences (not sure exactly what I am looking for) but all seemed ok.
I use Safari but the same happens in Firefox.
Any other thoughts?

What are the specs of your machine? It is possible that your machine is struggling with the content, especially if it is Flash video.

I have a one year old imac with intel duo at 2.8GHz and 2gb of memory. It did run iplayer with no problems some months ago. Since then I have gone to Snow Leopard but that may just be a coincidence.
I also have the white Macbook which I was trying to keep in step with the imac but the imac updates automatically while I update the macbook manually. Iplayer runs perfectly on the Macbook. Something has changed on the iMac but what?

Found this answer on another forum site:

I know this is getting old but make sure you fix permissions first. Then in your home folder delete the Flash Player folder that is inside both Library/Caches/Adobe and Library/Preferences/Macromedia.

For some reason Flash Player is unable to properly write data to those folders even after an uninstall and reinstall. This is probably due to corruption of the folders. I think Adobe should try to find out what causes the corruption after an upgrade."
