17-Inch Intel iMac Wont Start With New Display

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a 2.0ghz 17-inch intel iMac with a busted display. The machine turns on fine and chimes. It seems to run perfectly well with the old busted display attached and without any attached display. When I hook up the new display, however, the machine refuses to boot. There isn't even any fan noise.

I shouldn't be having this issue, the model number on both displays is exactly the same. Any idea what the issue might be?

Did you follow the step by step directions for changing out the display on your iMac? The ifixit web site has detailed instructions and there are numerous do it yourself videos available on You Tube.
