When I am typing in a email or a letter and I want to add an address and get it to link to the address I keep having to link it via the toolbar and type it in the link box...

Is there a way i can get the software to recognise a link automatically and just link it without doing it manually like with Microsoft software?

It will do it automatically in Mail when you send the e-mail.

Yep, you can confirm this by sending a email with a pasted link in it to yourself.

One caveat to the above: Mail will automatically make full URLs and complete email addresses "live" (clickable) to the recipient, but only if you write out the whole URL (or paste it in), by which I mean starting with http:// (in the case of URLs) or the whole email address ([email protected]).
