Automator. How to use it?

I think I have a general idea of what Automator does, I would just like to know exactly how to use it, because it looks like it would be a useful application. Help?

YW but do remember if you have a specific Automator action you are trying to do/set up dont be shy in returning and asking the question :)

I know this is going to sound like I am tooting my own horn but you might find the following ATPM articles useful. They illustrate some basic concepts and what I have been able to do with it. The Automator interface has changed a bit over the time these articles were written but I think you will get the idea.
