Download Problems

Hi. I received a mac book pro for a graduation present in may. Everything was going great until recently. Anything I download will only download either 3/4 the way then stall or 99 percent then stall. The same will happen with videos. At first I thought it could be my internet connection, but I have never had this problem before with my pc so that's why I'm scared something is wrong with my mac. Any suggestions will be amazing I'm so confused.

When you say "anything I download," what program are you using to "download" and what is it you are trying to download.
