Hi All, I currently have a Nikon D90 and I was looking for a Super Wide Angle lense at a decent price, can anyone give me any advice?

What's decent? Seems like $500-$600 is about the range for the cheapest UWA lenses that I'd be willing to say are quality.

Sigma do a 10-20mm for around that price new, you might get one for $400 second hand, the Sigma 12-24 is way better though, sharper.

If you want an incredibly sharp wide zoom I can't reccomend the Tokina 12-24 enough. It comes in around $500 but you can find them cheaper some places online. The zoom range is great....very sharp throughout the range but sharpest between f/ 5.6 and f/ 8. Very little CA and only a tiny bit of vignetting wide open. Just an all around amazing lens for Nikon mount. If you want something even wider take a look at the Tokina 11-16....unless you need something really inexpensive I'd avoid the Tamron. The Sigma has gotten good reviews but is reported to "feel cheap and plasticy". Good luck!

I have a Tokina 11-16 2.8 that I use on my D300. It's a fantastic lens and the field of view is huuuuge.

Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina all offer very good and cost-effective results for lenses when looking away from the general manufacturers. Especially since Tokina was started from some Nikon employees, they're a good way to go as well. The cheapest I have seen for these wide-anlges is at least $450, I'm in the market for ine for my Canon, but the cheapest I can find is $650, so i'm going to wait on that one.

after owning a sigma 10-20 for 3 years now, i'd buy the tokina 11-16 if i were in a position to do it again. while it's a bit more expensive than the others, i feel that f/2.8 is well worth it.

I've had the Sigma 10-20 for a few months and it has become my walkaround lens for the most part. It's sharp, well built and has great contrast and color rendition. It's by far the most popular option in for us rare pentaxians.
