Actually no I didn't.
Photobooth will generally not take quality photos that will be accepted by the government.
You will need to take the picture following the guidelines I linked, but you can download the picture you take to the computer and prepare it, following the guidelines using Preview to crop it to size, and then print and send the application to the State Department.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were suggesting that Preview could TAKE THE PHOTO, which of course it cannot.
