format new HDD for MAC and Windows

................................ OLD: MBP 13" Mid 09 .......... NEW: MBP 13" Mid 12 ..........
i am getting a new HDD i want to partition it to run Mac OS and Windows before i restore my files. How do i do it, what format should the windows side be

What is easer carbon copy clone or time machine.

Both will do the job, but I prefer Time Machine

AS for the formatting, if you are going to use bootcamp, then just format the disk as one Mac partition, restore all your files and let Bootcamp handle the creation of a Windows partition and install
