Help! I have an I Mac and accidentally deleted 7k pic from iPhoto trash. Is there any way to recover these pics? I do not have a external hard drive with back up. Thanks

No, the pics are gone, unfortunately. iPhoto warns when you delete from its Trash, that "you cannot undo this action". Are the pics by any chance still left on the camera card?

Well, no, that's not correct, Hugh.

A professional data recovery service like Drivesavers could probably get those pictures back. It's going to cost her a couple of grand, but they will probably be able to retrieve them provided ptbsn8 hasn't been continuing to use the computer since this accident.

I always assume people with questions leave out the word "easily" but really intended that to be understood. 'Cause what they really want to do is click one button and have the Mac perform magic. So, with that assumption, the answer is No.

I agree. Sure you can send the hard drive off to Drive Savers or whoever and spend a couple of K, but usually folks are not willing to spend that kind of money.

But technically, chas_m is correct.

There are several good software recovery programs that might be able to recover those photos if like chas_m mentioned they have not been overwritten.

I've never heard of the one that MacKeeperUser suggested, but from their web site, it looks like it may be worth while to try their trial version.

Regards.

Yet another good example of why backing up with Time Machine is so important.
