I bought the said adapter a few months ago for my Mac mini. Now, I have DVI and just use the adapter that came with the computer. I am thinking of just selling the adapter, but then something else came to mind. Next year I am planning to buy a new MacBook Pro for college (going into Senior year of high school in September) and was wondering if I would need it like to connect to an in-class projector, monitor or something. Any advice? College students chime in! :)

Who knows? You're asking folks to predict the future...and not just the future...but your specific future! Who knows what sort of projectors, monitors, etc. you may or will need to connect to?

That adapter is worth $29 bucks. If you could use the money now...then sell it. In the future if you need an adapter...then buy another one.

Well I was asking college students to chime in on this so that I can get a small perspective on whether their schools are using newer standards, or if they are still relying on VGA.
