I'm thinking of buying an iPhone but I see that the Mac OS system requirements are for OSX 10.5 or later. I'm currently running 10.4.11. How will this inhibit my use of the iPhone? Do I need to upgrade to 10.5; this will mean a new computer as mine is a pre Intel m/c, ugh!

Yes. iOS 4 will require iTunes 9.2, which requires OS X 10.5.8+. so ATM i think you are out of luck :(

Cheers

No, he's not out of luck at all. All he has to do is upgrade to Leopard, which his machine probably supports. LEOPARD (10.5.x) is fine on both PPC and Intel Macs; SNOW Leopard requires Intel only.
