Hey,

I just want to know quickly, if it is worth upgrading my ram from 2gb to 4gb???
Will it improve anything like the start up time, gaming performance, ect...?

Thanks

It certainly wont hurt, but it depends what sort of programs you use. If you often open up a lot of programs and some of them are memory hogs like Photoshop - then go for it.

Its not as if memory will break the bank nowadays

Would the extra RAM improve the smoothness of games? Also would it improve start up times? If so, by how much approx.

Thanks for replying BTW, really appreciate it. :D

If:

- you're playing a game (you haven't told us what games you're playing)
- this game is the only application you have open
- the game does not require more than 2 gig of ram

...then I'm going to say that a ram upgrade will not help help with the smoothness of the game. If you want the smoothness of the game to improve...you either need a faster CPU, a better GPU...or both.

Also, if you already have 2 gig of ram...it's not going to speed up startup times.

Faster HDD is going to make the start up time faster, as well as game loading times. As for the game smoothness which can actually mean a lot of things...that really depends on the Graphic card, and the Processor. RAM does help somewhat for game "smoothness."
