Inserting symbols into text question...

I apologize in advance for this "beginner" question. But where do I find a table of symbols (like dollar signs, copyright symbols, etc.) that I can insert into a Pages document, Keynote slide, etc.?

But for more you can access the character palette from any program

Apple - Pro - Techniques - The (Hidden) Glyphs Palette, p1

System Preferences, Language & Text, Input Sources tab. Place a check in the box that states "Keyboard & Character Viewer" and a check in the box below that states "Show input menu in menu bar". Then when you need to select a special character, click on the flag in the menu bar at the top and select "Show Character Viewer". You can then select which special character you want from the various groups of special characters.
