Price matching

Has anyone ever bought a Mac using their price matching system? A couple days ago I was in a Mac store and was working a deal to get a Powerbook 17" for real cheap ($2149!!). I was unsuccesful and actually had to walk away after having the box 2 inches from me. oh well. I think they only promise to match it up to 20% but a friend of mine just got a really good deal on his so... Thanks for the input!

Apple controls the pricing of their systems so much that their price matching system is really worthless.

I was able to get them to knock $300 off my PB when I bought it to match a price I found online.... Of course the next day they upgraded everything and dropped the price $200 for the newer version... So I actually ended up only saving $100 on the new version.
