No sound from macbook!!

For some reason, there's no sound coming from my macbook's main internal speakers. I've checked the preferences, seems ok. Checked volumes on apps / you tube / my space... full on!

No sound from headphones either!

What's going on? Is there anything else I should check before I contact apple?

Stick a 1/4" headphone jack in and out of the headphone port. it'll loosen up whatever is stuck in there.
