Hey Guys,

I keep getting this error when I attempt to partition my macbook hard drive. I booted my computer in single user mode and used the fsck utility to repair my drive.

Here is the error I continue to get: http://i25.tinypic.com/fohnvq.png

Does anyone have any other suggestions for me? I am not able to use the repair utility on my osx disc because my drive is not accepting discs (it just spits is back out).

Thanks,
Mike

There's a problem with your hard drive which is the reason you can't partition it. You definitely need the ability to run diagnostics from your original install media. Without being able to do that, you won't know whether the drive can be repaired. First things first.... If the optical drive is defective, you need to replace it. Or, if your install disk is bad, try another one.

Regards.
