Hello,

I'm interested in creating a simple FB application that

1. creates a new tab
2. includes a message board

It seems this process is not so straightforward. According to Facebook Programming: Facebook Platform Step By Step Tutorial - PHPEveryDay, it seems I have to create an application and register it with FB.

But here is the tricky part, I need server hosting? Where can I find information on how to host a server using a Mac? I also have VirtualBox that has Ubuntu.

Since I am novice, I would like to avoid Windows since I have heard of numerous security holes.

Please guide.

I can pretty much almost 100% guarantee you that FB will not approve an app that's hosted on a personal server running on a home machine.

You need actual FB app server hosting. Joyent seems to be a pretty popular one:

Thank you for the link. $125/month seems rather steep for something simple.

Guess I'll see if there is another alternative....
