Having connected my macbook to my Imac using the correct firewire cable and followed the migration assistant instructions, I am unable to transfer the data from my macbook to my imac.
the message i always get after about 10 minutes (and 40 minutes remaining on the transfer) is
The other Mac is not responding. Make sure that all of your network devices are connected and turned on. Also, make sure that your Ethernet cables are still connected properly to your computer and to the network, or if using AirPort, that the base station is in range and turned on.
Can anyone help? The suggestions in the error message are irrelevant, everything is OK.
Are there other ways I can do this, or at least just transfer the applications?
