Hey guys.

I've been having a problem with my Macbook Pro built-in microphone.

It's a late 2009 15" 2.53GHz version.

The built-in microphone used to work fine, but has become very unsensitive for some reason. If I record myself talking, with my mouth right near the mic, I can very VERY barely hear myself. Sometimes not at all.
It can hear me tapping the laptop though, or typing.

Please help.

Thanks

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
Welcome to Mac Forums.
Other than making sure that the level is set correctly in system preferences>sound>input>built in microphone, I would suggest, getting a low pressure vaccum cleaner onto it, and seeing if perhaps it's just dust build up.
Also, see this link http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/ap...macbook-2ghz-internal-microphone-problem.html
Otherwise, since you are still under warranty, I'd make an appointment with Apple Genius Bar.
