Hi there

I just purchased an external display for my MacBook (white, July 2008), and whenever I close my MacBook (with the display connected), I get a blue screen (like the startup one), and it doesn't go away

Is there any way I can make it so that once I close my MacBook, the display stays active (and I can do everything else with an external keyboard/mouse?)

Thanks!

You're referring to what's known as operating your MacBook in "clam shell" mode. Take a look at the following Apple KB article for the how to. LINK

BTW, in order to use an external monitor you must be on AC power not battery.

Regards.
