Excel - Modify horizontal axis data

Hello everybody, nice to meet you all (it's my first post here).

I need to create a very simple columns graphic in Excel.

In the horizontal axis, I want to put the years (from 2000 to 2010).
In the vertical axis, I want to put amounts of money

As you can see in the JPG attached, in the horizontal axis there are the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.

What should I do to put the years 2000-2010 there?
I clicked (right button) on those numbers (1, 2, 3...) and tries 2 ptions:
1. "Dar formato al Eje" (literally "Give format to axis"), but it only offers me changes related to size, font, alignment, etc. I can¡t modify the numbers themselves.
2. "Select data". It only allows me to change the data related to the amounts of money, not the one related to the years.

I hope you can help me, thank you very much.

I think it relates to formatting the numbers in the table as year. Then go back to the first (or second) step in creating the chart, there is an option for ensuring that the x-axis refers to the right one. (I'm doing this from memory of 2 years ago).
