Lost my widescreen resolutions

Once in a blue moon this happens: I normally have a 1280x800 (approximately) resolution, then on a reboot it is no longer in my list of display resolutions and I'm stuck with a 4x3 screen because anything on widescreen is "stretched". I have no idea how I reclaimed the 1280x800 in the past; it'd just show up again.

I run OS 10.3.9 on a MacMini G4 with 1 gb memory.

AOC 917Sw. Well, I ran Diskwarrior on it and the 1280x800 resolution reappeared. Go figure.
