iPhone 4 reception issues? A network reset might help

Here's something to try. On your iPhone preferences, navigate to "General," and then scroll down to the bottom where it says "Reset." Tap that, and then tap "Reset Network Settings." You'll get a warning, and the phone will reset to factory defaults. You'll likely lose some Wi-Fi passwords, but you may also find that your cellular reception gets a lot better.

From the comments, it doesn't look like it's helping most people. Seems more like a placebo than even a partial fix.

Edit: Just tried it myself. No change.

Gripping any phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. Its iPhone 4's most controversial flaw (thats why I opted for the Nokia E71 instead, awesome phone by the way) I saw on attack of the show that if you wish to live with the iPhone 4 and its flaws, what you can do is to avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use a protective case. Major bummer, still.
