Hello

First time poster.

I have a 13 inch macbook and its about 2-3 years old. It is one of the intel ones but its DVD does not work.

It has an official copy of TIger on it but I would like to install leopard on it but dont want to pay for a repair if I dont have to.

Is there a way of installing leopard (doesnt have to be official) as I want to use some of the new features leopard gives you.

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

First you will have to buy the Mac Box Set,
Mac Box Set - Apple Store (U.S.)

Then you will need to get access to either a Mac with a functioning DVD drive or and external DVD drive like this one.
Amazon.com: MSI External USB 2.0 DVD Reader/ Writer: Electronics
You can then use the external DVD reader to boot the Mac from the Install disk by holding down the option key right after the startup sound.

If you use another Mac with a DVD drive, this explains how to do it.

No, you need another Mac as was pointed out in the Link. The external DVD drive at Amazon will work just fine though.

Regards.
