will harddrive reboot entire MBP?

hello will buying a new harddrive restart my MBP? when i first got it i couldn't even get passed the login screen because i didnt know the login information. will buying a harddrive fix this? Any suggestions for a harddrive? the old one broke anyways so i HAVE to get a new one..

You'll need to reinstall OS X if you buy a new hard drive anyway, so your best solution is just t reinstall OS X on your Macbook Pro and it will wipe the drive clean so it won't have a login password any longer.

You're other option is to talk to the person you bought the computer from to get the password.

How do you know that your old Hard Drive broke if you didn't have the login information, but you could get to the log in screen?
