switching processors on a macbook pro

i was wondering is it possible to switch processors i have a intel core 2 duo and i was wondering if i can upgrade to the i7 ?

No, you cannot 'switch processors.'

The only way you would be able to do that with a portable computer would be to buy a new one.

Upgrading processor in general isn't just a matter of swapping the chip out..even on a desktop PC, the motherboard (Logic board in Apple-speak) has to specifically support the i7 or any particular processor you're trying to upgrade to.
