Does Iphone 3.1.3 work with Itunes 7.7?

You can update iTunes without updating the firmware on your phone. One has nothing to do with the other. You can also decline any iPhone firmware update. If your concerned about jailbreaking, the latest jailbreaks work with the latest iTunes, so there's no reason not to update.

Not sure if iTunes 7 is compatible, but you will not brick the phone by just plugging it in. If anything, you'll just get a popup that the two are not compatible and you need to update iTunes.

Ok, for 3.1.3, you need itunes 8.2 or newer. fyi, thanks for the heads up btw. I thought by updating your itunes, you would update the iphone during syncing. I understand it now, thanks for the quick responses!
