Well having just got my brand spanking new iPod touch replaced due to several dead/stuck pixels, including a stonking purple one slap bang in the middle, I am finding myself with another issue. My iPod Touch is a 3rd gen running ios4 and the issue is that when the screen is off and I press the home button to bring it on, it occasionally requires more than one click. Now I never experienced this with my old 1st gen Touch but then that has ios3 something on it. What I don't know is whether this is now normal, a bug or faulty hardware on the blink? What I have noticed is that the issue usually occurs when the device has been idle for a while, so maybe it's just that the Touch has entered some sort of deep sleep...basically I'm just asking to fine out if others of you Touch users know the Answer.

hang on I've just pressed it 3-4 times before the screen responded (came on)...this can't be normal?! Thing is though, once the screen is on the button is never unresponsive?

If it is "brand spanking new", it is defective. One single tap is all it should take.

With iOS3 on my iPhone 3G, I only had to hit the home button once to wake it up..with the iOS 4 upgrade..I do find that sometimes I have hit it twice..I've found that sometimes it's just easier to hit the power button top and then slide to use the phone..hasn't been annoying enough for me to complain about it..but it's strange indeed..

Well I have a iPod Touch 2nd Gen and sometimes it takes more than 1 single tap for it to react, maybe you should go to a apple specialist at the apple store its will help!!!

Hope it works soon!
