Hi all, This is my first time here and I was hoping maybe I could get a few answers...

I own a MacBook Pro, roughly a year old (last may). Anytime I restart my computer it will shut down properly but upon booting up the white light on the front will stay solid. I then usually push the power button in which the computer begins to load and once it loads it tells me that OSX has unexpectedly crashed.

This does not happen while I am using the computer or when I shut down the computer. Only when I restart. I'm not sure if it it is the new update that is buggy because once I downloaded that it seems like the problem started but it all could be in my head.

Just wondering if anyone know's what's going on, I just bought this computer after my other one died and I'm kinda scared that it's following the same route.

Run some diagnostic tests on your MBP: Boot it with your original install DVD (Leopard, Snow Leopard) and perform the Apple Hardware Test. Take a look at this X-Lab article on how to use the Apple Hardware Test.

While the machine is booted from the DVD you can also perform a Verify and Repair on the hard drive and repair permissions.

Post back and we can go from there.

Regards.
