Is this the only place it is not working - dragging to the dock?

Can you drag and drop to the desktop - in Finder?

Try it in another user account to see if it's system wide or only in your account.

Does it happen everytime trying to add an item to the dock or only sometimes there also?

Also check Trackpad preferences - uncheck all - Clicking - Dragging - Drag Lock; see if that does anything (your preferences could look different than on my older machine also).

ok, I only have one user account in this computer, i'm new to mac btw...should i create another account just to check? is it easy to erase it later?

it happen when dragging and dropping everywhere, including the dock, but only a sometimes, not always.

I unchecked everything in trackpad preferences and checked all again... I'll try and let u know...

?? My best guess would be that it is hardware based vs software. A good test would still be to create a new user account and try it there. Going to be tough though if it's only happening once every few hours.

You would create a new user in System Preferences - Accounts.

I have noticed that it also happens with an external USB Mouse...I can drag but I can't drop...
