Help

Hi I've just converted from pc to mac. I had bought a programme which i used daily called I-Sound, provided by a company called Abyssmedia can i bring this over to my I-Mac or is there a programme available that I can use to record live streaming radio, so that I can save it to disc/usb and listen to the recording later in my van?

1. It's an iMac, not an I-Mac.

2. Bob is (as usual) right, Audio Hijack Pro is probably the best single tool for this purpose. There are lots of other programs that can do this as well, but AHP is probably the all-around best (though I am fond of Wiretap Studio as well).

Thanks chas, I couldn't remember WireTap Studio since I don't really do any radio recordings. That's in the top 2 most recommended that we see for sure. Could be a 50-50 split between them.

+1 for AHP here too. Worth the money.

If there's a specific radio station you want to record and don't want to spend a lot of money on it, here's a third alternative: the free FStream (also available for iPhone/iPod Touch). It will record to lossy (MP3, AAC) or lossless (WAV, AIFF).

You have to punch in the address of the radio station, and it doesn't do scheduled or automatic recording like AHP or Wiretap, but for a basic free recording tool it can do the job.
