sharing my mac wifi with Iphone

hey all, hope this is a question that has a good answer
At home I can not get a wifi on my Iphone, although
my MacBook is on wifi all the time,
can I "tether" to the Iphone and use the MacBook wifi
on the Iphone.
I know it is suppose to work the other way around
Iphone to laptop, but I want to go from laptop to Iphone

There shouldn't be any particular reason why you can't get wi-fi on your iPhone if your MacBook can, unless you are locked out. Is wi-fi turned off in the settings for some reason? Does your iPhone not see your wi-fi signal? Is the option to "Ask to Join Networks" enabled?

i had this problem before, but unfortunately my iphone's wifi chip was broken or something i had to send it in to get it fixed...hope this helps
