I had in the 220s with my powerbook that I just got, that is a little low, I don't have my actual numbers since my ram went bad and wont' do it again until i get new.

What stats did that Powerbook have? I have the most current model w/ 1 GB ram and the best I have gotten is in the high 130s, low 140s....

I don't know about all of these results. Every time I take the test, results seem to have a pretty wide difference, even when the conditions have remained exactly the same. I give this test about a 20 pt. +/- accuracy. I just got a 156 on mine, then when I took it again, I got a 123. The last time I took it a couple days ago, I got a 138. A couple months ago, I got a 142.

BTW, does anybody know other good benchmarking programs for Mac that I could try? I think using different programs might give me results that I can actually look at and get value from...

I got 92.xx on my powerbook,
and 254.xx on my powermac.

I didn't bother closing any apps on either, because I'm lazy! (which means the PB was running webserver and mysql, and the PM had 2 accounts logged in, one running bittorrent...)

The _good_ thing is that the PB doesn't feel slower than the PM in use, which says a lot for the efficiency of OSX in my opinion. I know that I can tell the difference between a 2.5Ghz and a 1Ghz Windows PC just running windows explorer...

Interesting that the running apps seem to have destroyed any from advantage the extra Gig of RAM I have over sarahsboy18 on the PB, but that possibly accounts for why I get away with runnning webserver etc on the laptop constantly!

Edit: just reread, and realised I was actually referring to the iBook, not the PowerBook; thats even more of a hit, really. (maybe I will actually turn that off...)

When I interpret the results, it looks like it's mostly the "slow" laptop hard drive that brings the score down.

Ok so my 1.67 ghZ 1gig ram got a 46 for the bench mark test why is it so low?

I got a 41.5 with my 1.5 12" Powerbook....I'm also wondering why it's so dramaticly different from other results I'm seeing.

Well, here are results on all my computers. With different scenarios. I forgot to add to the results that i was running quicksilver and Snapz Pro X while doing this on all machines except the Beige G3.

Now quite what i was expecting!!

HA, you think yours is not good!! You should take a look at my scores. Miune did not go over 100 on my 17in 2.0 GHz iMac G5 with SD.

I quit everything before i ran it too.

Oh well, don't really care!!

But how to you get that high of a score when the average is in the 60's??
