I have a 15" MacBook Pro and would like to hookup a new 20" external monitor (Samsung SyncMaster B2030). It came with a D-Sub cable and a DVI cable, but I don't think either are directly compatible with the MacBook.

Before I order a wrong cable, do I need MiniDisplay Port to DVI, a special adapter, or something else? What are the best options?

Thanks,
Darrin

There have been at least three 15" MacBook Pros with a 2.53ghz processor released over the past 1.5-2.0 years. So we would have to know exactly which model MacBook Pro you have to be 100% sure what ports it has.

Update: Ok so I checked out all three models...and all three have the mini-display port. So you probably need the mini-display port to DVI adapter.

In case this monitor has a VGA port...you could use this adapter as well:

But the DVI is better if you can use it.
