PowerMac G4 Memory Upgrade Problem

So I have a Powermac G4 AGP that orginally had a 400mhz processor and I replaced it with a 1.3mhz and its been working wonderfully.

I only had 768mb of memory so I ordered some new memory from eBay.
Its my understanding that my model accepts pc100 and pc133 memory so I purchased 2 sticks of 512mb pc133. However when I installed them they were not recgonized at all.

I moved them to the other slots and again they were not recgonized. I tried a PRAM reset and still had no luck.

Any ideas?

It's because not all PC100 or PC133 ram is compatible with Macintosh computers. If you want ram that's compatible with your Powermac G4...visit these guys:

For further explanation - G4's are very fussy about memory and you do need PC133 low density modules to meet the machine specs. Nearly 100% of PC memory is much cheaper high density and from what you say odds are heavily in favour you purchased high density memory, and thus will not work in your G4. Best if you came here and asked first?

As Nick advises, OWC are the best even for those of us down here in Australia!
