I'm having problems with this and none of the solutions I've found on the web seem to work.

1. It used to work properly
2. Now when I follow a link to a pdf file I just get a black screen

I'm a fairly new mac user so sorry if the solution is obvious

Have you tried resetting Safari? Go to Safari > Reset Safari... (I believe this is the right menu option - not in front of my Mac).

Have you tried Firefox to see if this is a Safari issue or a system issue?

What version OSX and Safari are you using?

Is this only one particular web site or several sites?
