Hi.

Actually the title explains it all but let me explain it briefly.

When I try to burn something on a CD or DVD, my MacBook Pro fails to do so.

I read some posts about people having to suffer with the same issue I'm having but what's the solution.

Thanks, C@N.

Need more detail about how and what you are trying to burn. Can't really help, if you don't give some idea about what steps you are taking to accomplish the burn and what kind of files you are trying to burn.

What software are you using.
What brand of disc.
What files.

That's what we really need to know.

Actually any kind of disc, any kind of files and any kind of brand it seems.

I can read but I can't write properly.

Then I would suggest that the burner is the issue.
How old is the Pro?
Have you tried cleaning the laser with a good disc based lens cleaner?

It's couple of years, like 3 to 4 years.

And I never tried cleaning the laser with a good disc based lens cleaner. Could you please advise me one Kevriano?

Sure. Firstly, this is most likely the issue. 3-4 years of wear on a laser with no cleaning is bound to cause issues, and this may not solve it. However, it's cheaper than buying a new burner!
I have always found the Allsop brand to be among the best, but most good record stores or PC stores sell them. Make sure you get one suitable for DVD.

Thanks, Kevriano. I'll try it and report back.
