Autofill usernames not working

I recently had to replace a hdd on my imac. My old settings would autofill certain usernames but not passwords. I dont think it is the actual autofill feature like for filling in name address etc. Is this a cookie setting or something. I have looked everywhere trying to figure out how i had it set. Thanks!

For security reasons you shouldnt use it anyway.

Are you referring to the autofill feature in Safari? If you are, just open Preferences, Autofill, and place a check in each of the three boxes. (assuming you're using the latest version of Safari.)
