So? What's the big deal? Just seems like a smart move to grab someone who has this kind of money and doesn't want to wait till the next available date.

What really has me interested in is that a regular 16gb is going for $800+!! That will cover both the original price and the termination fees!! :O

I listed my 3GS today, hope it covers most of the cost of the 4. I just did a 3 day auction since there's tons of them on there and ending on Saturday when most peeps are home may be better then ending on a weekday. Last year my 1st gen sold for $219 which covered the cost of the 3GS.

while tempting to grab a quick G, i would prefer to just have my iPhone :) mine came today. afraid to try activating it though as many around the web are saying the process deactivates your current SIM and then wont activate the new one til tomorrow.. :\

i suspect those prices will drop rather quickly on ebay as other droves of quick buck followers will put theirs online and undercut eachother. the guy above already sold one for 1150 tho!

I guess I'm not understanding why anyone would buy one for the $800+ that I see bids for. Why not just wait a week and buy one from Apple?

I'm trying to find one for my girlfriend for her birthday. Hopefully I can snag one at some point for ~$600 or less in a day or two.

The high bidder on the $1200 one that just ended has 0 feedback. I think you're seeing a lot of scamming going on. Happened when the PS3 came out too. Very few people made money, most were people having their friends jack up their auction prices or people doing it as a prank.

Just checked eBay, looks like it's not really worth selling since most bids are only going for around the retail price.

I posted my 3G on craigslist last week and got several people wanting it. I let them know I could not sell it until the end of this week. And sure enough, I met up with one of the buyers today about an hour after I got my iPhone4.

Sold my 16GB White 3G for $300.00
So that covered the cost of my 32GB iPhone4. wOOt!!!

one motivation could be to not have to get a 2yr contract..

3GS iphones have dropped on Craigslist as low as 150 each yesterday they were 400 plus

not surprising.. RadioShack gave/gives $200 (store credit) for a 3G..

Sold my 8GB 3G and case a couple of days ago via Craigslist for $175. I think I did OK with that.
