It would be great if apple switched to having chrome more default! It would make much better full screen usage. But, I guess they wont because they are slowly getting rid of google products ): (soon apple will make a new search engine probably :p)

Apple gains nothing by having Chrome as the default browser. And how can Chrome have improved full screen performance? It already uses OS X's built in functionality in two different ways (regular and "presentation" mode).

Chrome. I'd use safari but Chrome is kind a a necessity as I'm switching fairly frequently between OSX and Win7/8, so it's nice to have all my open tabs available everywhere. When I finally get that mac mini I've been thinking about for 3 or 4 years I'll gladly switch to safari.

I much prefer Firefox to Safari, but I hate how they took away the drop-down at the top-left where you could automatically go back to one of your recently-visited sites. I really, really miss that.

I have Firefox and Chrome downloaded as well as Safari, since this is a multi-user computer. Lately I've been using Firefox, but I also like Safari.

Is Safari the best browser for the Mac?

I've been using Safari for a very long time and I found no fault with it whatsoever; other than the odd tome it needed to be restarted.
Recently I saw a link for the new Firefox and decided to give that a go. I used Firefox extensively when I was using a PC.
When I installed it and ran it, I looked at the Activity Monitor to see which is using more resources.
Over here both browsers are running with 2 tabs and are playing a long youtube video. It seems to me that Safari is using more memory with PIDs 4101, 6135, 6138 using a total of 861.9MB of real memory.
Whereas Firefox is using PIDs 6814,6816 using a total of 384MB of real memory…
(Picture Attached)
This made me ask... what does this mean? Is Safari really the best browser for my mac?
I've had no real issues with it, but will Firefox be a better choice for something that uses less system resources?

Anyone neurotic enough to use:
DUCKDUCKGO.com

Apparently they don't track your usage, like other web browsers do.

I used to laugh at Chrome because I thought it looked terrible but they've came a long way. I actually use it daily now.

There's a new version of Opera available for download which seems to help speed it up a bit. Otherwise, I much prefer Chrome for speed and ease of use. I'm not a Firefox fan and try to avoid it except when using Linux.

I'm using Chrome.

I actually want to give Safari a go, but I have an Android phone, and I use Chrome on that one as well. Having my bookmarks synced between them, being able to continue what I am doing on phone in the computer (open tabs sync) etc. makes me feel like I won't be using Safari.

However, I read that Mavericks will come with a faster and resource-efficient Safari, so I am tempted to use it.

Do you guys know a way of syncing my Android browser and Safari? That's pretty much why I am still using Chrome.

Can't install Firefox 30

I just tried to download Firefox 30 and install it. But when trying to mount the .dmg file, it says "no mountable file systems". I thought there might be something wrong with the file so I tried to download another one from the site. Same message.

Any ideas?
