MS excel on Mac will not open. Pop up message reads "not enough memory"

What can I do for this problem? OS X, new Mac, cleared cache, rebooted still same problem.

Please provide a bit more information such as type of computer, OS version, installed RAM, version of Excel / Office , .....
Are you seeing the error when opening the excel application or when opening an Excel sheet ?
Look in activity monitor and see how much RAM is available prior to launching Excel.

Cheers ... McBie

I doubt if it has anything to do with memory as such ... must be something else.
I read somewhere it might also have to do with missing/disabled fonts.
To narrow down the problem, can you create a new user on your machine and test again with that user ID.
if the problem persists, then the base setup of MS Office needs to be looked at.

Thanks McBie,

I will continue searching for the final answer. Will tell you later about any successes.

Where in Belgium? Have visited several times and enjoy the beer!
