I just got the new version on my iPad and installed it on my iPod Touch. It shows the books I have purchased, BUT IT WILL NOT OPEN THEM!!!

UPDATE: Cycled power to iPod and iPad and now the books will load, but they are back at the beginning of each book. iBooks has a long way to go if they want to be better than the Kindle app!

I am done purchasing iBooks until they fix it!!!

I think apple will be having issues with 100,000 people downloading iBooks at once tbh... :S

I'm sure it will be fixed soon

I've had no problems and the bookmark syncing between the iPad and the iPhone seems to work perfectly.

Works fine for me. I got a message asking if I wanted to sync progress across devices. It's all good!

The best part is the fact that you can store your PDF's in there!

iBooks is working fine on my iPhone 3GS, but I didn't upgrade until yesterday evening so I might have gotten a later version of the APP (if there was a problem with early version).
I did get the missing resource error once, but only because I didn't allow the book to fully download (ie didn't wait for the blue ribbon to appear on the binder) before trying to access it.

So far so good--looking forward to iOS4 on the iPad!

I apologize!

1) For being hasty in my my suggestion not to download the iBooks upgrade. I am sure with iOS4 and the new version of iBooks coming out at the same time, this must have overwhelmed the system. The good news is that the syncing between units does work! The only other issue is that when you stop reading on the iPad and then open the same book on an iPod (or iPhone I assume) is that it takes you to the top of the page you were reading on the iPad whereas the Kindle app takes you to the bottom of the page. The problem is that the pages are bigger on the iPad (duh!) and you have to turn ahead about 3 pages on the iPod to catch up. If that's the worst thing about it, then I can live with it... if I have to... I guess.

2) For using all caps. I know this is "bad form" and considered yelling on forums, but I was really upset and wanted to make my point. I am over it now. Hopefully the mod (and the rest of you of course) will accept my most sincere apology.
