Installing fonts - little help?

Never mind. I figured it out. Eventually.

I've recently started to do the majority of my graphics work on my Mac. Which up until now, has had no connection to the internet, and I'm just working on a tempory network cable at the moment.
The thing is, the fonts that came with the Mac (which is reletively new) are... well, crap.
So I want to download some new ones. Which I've managed to do, until I get a little stuck...

Once they're downloaded... how do I install them, so I can use them?

Please help. I'm sick of using Times and Arial look-a-likes. :-(

What did you do? Just asking, in case someone else may come along with the same problem.

I downloaded the font I wanted.
Then I opened Font Book, clicked File > Add Fonts...
and then found file I'd downloaded, opened it, I then dragged it into the Computer folder which is under the 'All Fonts' heading in the left hand column.

And that's it. Simple as. :)
