I have an ipod (120GB), and whenever I start to listen to audiobooks it will read about 2 chapters and jump to a way in the future chapter or to another audiobook.

Anyone know what is going on or what should I do to fix this?

The audiobook works fine in itunes.

tks

Need more info on where you got this audiobook, what type of file it is, is it a single file or did you download some of the freebies where each chapter is it's own mp3 file, etc.

If the book is nothing personal and free - a link to the actual download - unless pirated/illegal - would be helpful.

The files are m4b. Each audiobook is made up of 3 files - which were divided into chapters.

I tested them in other ipods and iphones, and this only happens in this ipod, which is new.

Only thing I'd have to suggest then is to remove them from the iPod and put them back on.

Removed everything, restored it (for the third time), and only put in audiobooks. And it works now. I just hope it will work when I also put in music...

Tks guys.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Be a bummer for me if my audiobooks quit working properly for sure.

Are the audio files VBR? (variable bit rate). My new iPod Classic had some trouble with certain VBR files that played fine in iTunes, but wouldn't play on the iPod. When I converted them to fixed bitrate files everything played fine again.
