Hi,

I installed VMware Fusion, and it seems it launches some processes when my mac starts.

Looking at activity monitor, I have:
152 vmnet-netifup root 0.0 1 76 KB Intel (64 bit)
150 vmnet-natd root 0.0 1 716 KB Intel (64 bit)
147 vmnet-dhcpd root 0.0 1 388 KB Intel (64 bit)
144 vmnet-netifup root 0.0 1 76 KB Intel (64 bit)
142 vmnet-dhcpd root 0.0 1 220 KB Intel (64 bit)
138 vmnet-bridge root 0.0 3 872 KB Intel (64 bit)

And this is a lot of processes...
How can I prevent this processes from running when I start my mac?

I already removed the VMware icon from the System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items, and this processes still fire up when I start my mac...

Still in a windows mode on your new machine huh?

Don't know how to stop them while you have VMWF installed.

All of the processes VMWF starts up uses a total of approx. 28MB or 0.014% of your memory if you have 2GB and only 0.007% if you have 4GB.

My 3 1/2 year old Mac still starts up in about 26 seconds on those rare occasions it gets a reboot with all of those processes running.

Personally, wouldn't worry about them. I use to do all that stuff on my Win gaming rigs with the help of Black Viper's site. Perhaps someone else will come along that might know how though.

You're not going to be able to stop those processes unless you uninstall Fusion. When Fusion installs, it places hooks into the system which are needed so that the VM can be created and correctly integrate within OS X.

If you're not using Fusion, uninstall it. That will get rid of those processes.

Regards.
